Sustainable Design

True to our landscape architectural roots, we place a strong emphasis on sustainable design practices in all facets of our design process and philosophy. We begin with the site analysis, assessing the various features such as topography, soils, water resources, wildlife and vegetation.

Once we enter the master planning phase, we focus on locating the design elements in response to the sites natural features while minimizing impacts to environmentally sensitive areas.  We utilize the natural vegetation or if none is present we create vegetative buffers   to filter storm water runoff from the maintained areas of the golf course, residences and roadways.

Our detailed design focuses on the use of turf grasses and plant materials that are best suited to the local climate to minimize the need for artificial irrigation and chemical use. Turf areas can be minimized by incorporating native grasses which will reduce the demand for water while adding textural and color variety to the landscape.
